Terms of Service
These terms apply to the remote pharmacy consultation services offered through dawaconsult.co.ke. By booking or using a consultation, you agree to them. Please read them carefully.
DawaConsult is not an emergency service. If you are experiencing a medical emergency — severe symptoms, a serious reaction to a medication, or any situation that may be life-threatening — stop and seek immediate help from emergency services or your nearest hospital. Do not wait for a consultation.
1. What DawaConsult is
DawaConsult provides professional pharmacy advice and medication guidance delivered remotely by a qualified pharmacist. This includes reviewing medications, explaining prescriptions, checking for possible drug interactions, and offering evidence-based guidance on over-the-counter and herbal products.
2. What DawaConsult is not
- It is not a diagnosis service. We do not diagnose medical conditions.
- It does not replace your doctor or prescriber. Our advice is intended to complement, not substitute for, the care of your treating clinician.
- We do not prescribe or dispense medicines through this service.
- It is not for emergencies. See the notice above.
You should not stop, start, or change any prescribed medication solely on the basis of a consultation without discussing it with your prescribing doctor.
3. Your responsibilities
To give you safe and useful advice, we rely on the information you provide. You agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information about your medications, conditions, and allergies during your consultation.
- Tell us about all medicines you are taking, including supplements and herbal products.
- Follow up with your doctor or prescriber where we advise you to do so.
- Use the service only for yourself, or for someone whose care you are responsible for and on whose behalf you are entitled to seek advice.
Advice given is based on the information available at the time of the consultation. Incomplete or inaccurate information may affect the advice you receive.
4. Bookings, payment and refunds
Consultations are booked for a specific time slot and paid for in advance. Cancellations, rescheduling, and refunds are governed by our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
5. Confidentiality and your data
Your information is handled in line with the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019, and our Privacy Policy. Clinical details discussed during a consultation are kept confidential and are not shared with third parties except where required by law.
6. Limitation of liability
We take professional care in every consultation. However, to the fullest extent permitted by Kenyan law, DawaConsult (MEDIGUIDE CONSULT) is not liable for any loss or harm arising from:
- information you provide that is inaccurate, incomplete, or withheld;
- your decision to act, or not act, contrary to the advice given;
- changes to prescribed treatment made without consulting your prescriber;
- interruptions or failures of third-party services (for example, internet, scheduling, or payment providers).
Nothing in these terms limits liability where it cannot lawfully be limited.
7. Professional standing
Consultations are delivered by a qualified pharmacist practising in accordance with the applicable professional and regulatory requirements in Kenya.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page at the time of your booking is the one that applies to that consultation.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya.
